What is a Charm Pack?

If you've been here for a while, you know I love precut fabric—it helps me skip two of my least favorite parts of quilting: choosing fabric and cutting fabric. 😆

And charm packs? They’re one of my favorites because they’re so versatile! The 5" square size makes them a perfect starting point for all kinds of quilt blocks and projects.

Check out my blog post to learn more about charm packs and why they’re so great?

Tips for Mixing and Matching Charm Packs

Charm packs take the guesswork out of fabric selection, but sometimes you want to mix packs together for a larger quilt. Here’s how to make them blend seamlessly:

Stick to a Color Story – Choose packs with at least one common color to keep everything cohesive.

Balance Large & Small Prints – If one pack has mostly bold prints, pair it with one that has softer blenders.

Add a Solid – If your charm packs feel too busy, break them up with solid or low-volume squares.

Try a Design Wall – Lay out your squares before sewing to make sure everything flows nicely. I LOVE Felt Right Panels (affiliate link) for this. You can use pins or batting to make your blocks stick to the panels. And when you're not using your design wall, you'll have a beautiful piece of art in your sewing room! You can shop here (affiliate link) and use code HAILEYSTITCHES for 15% off!

Mixing charm packs can be a fun way to use up your stash while making something unique!

My go-to place to find beautiful Charm Packs is Fat Quarter Shop. They have an amazing selection! (affiliate link)

Hi, Reader! You know how some people bake their own cakes instead of buying them? Well… quilters can do that too. 😉 Layer Cakes, that is. The best part? No oven mitts, no dishes to wash, and you can absolutely lick the rotary cutter—…KIDDING.
